Street maintenance workers, also known as road maintenance workers or highway maintenance workers, are individuals responsible for the upkeep and repair of streets, roads, highways, and related infrastructure. 

• Performing Routine Maintenance: Regularly inspecting streets, roads, and related infrastructure for signs of wear and damage, and performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure safety and usability.
• Repairing Road Surfaces: Patching potholes, repairing cracks, and resurfacing roads to maintain smooth and safe driving conditions.
• Maintaining Traffic Signs and Signals: Installing, repairing, and replacing traffic signs, signals, and pavement markings to ensure proper guidance and traffic control.
• Clearing Debris: Sweeping streets, and removing litter, fallen leaves, and other debris to maintain cleanliness and prevent hazards.
• Snow and Ice Removal: Plowing snow, spreading salt or sand, and clearing ice during winter weather conditions to keep roads safe for travel.
• Vegetation Control: Trimming trees and bushes, removing overgrown vegetation that obstructs visibility or encroaches on roadways.
• Drainage Maintenance: Clearing storm drains, culverts, and ditches to prevent flooding and ensure proper water drainage.
• Operating Machinery and Equipment: Operating various machinery and equipment such as trucks, snowplows, mowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Following Safety Procedures: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries while working on roadways and with heavy machinery.
• Collaborating with Team Members: Working effectively as part of a team, communicating with coworkers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
